What is BVDA UK?
BVDA UK was set up in 2009 with the intention of getting BVDA volunteers, past and present, involved in raising awareness of international development issues across the university and the wider Bristol community. Topics such as trade justice, HIV/AIDS, human rights and child poverty are just a few of the issues which previous volunteers have directly encountered through our projects and which new volunteers will come across this summer. By drawing attention to these issues we hope to inspire others to take practical action to improve the lives of people in deprived communities abroad, such as taking part in international development projects through BVDA, campaigning here in the UK or just buying fairtrade products.
